Creative

Things are always busy with the Bunger's, but lately it seems like we have kicked into a new level of busy times in our lives.

Because of schedules, I've had to get creative with scheduling my workouts.  On deck for this week I need to cross train twice, run a 3 mile tempo, 2 mile easy run and 10 mile long run.  Usually those runs go in that order with my long run falling on a weekend or Friday.

We have many events/conflicts coming this week that just won't lend for this to happen in a certain order this week so I will have to be creative as to when I get these accomplished.  Instead of following the usual order of my training I did my 2 mile easy run to start off my week Sunday.  And I am going to attempt to do my 10 mile long run Wednesday night after school.  Saturday I am signed up for a 5K Diva Dash in the morning which works out pretty well to complete a 3 mile tempo run. But it's going to be one very cold early morning run!
I've also posted some pretty random pictures with this post. My throwback photo to Friends comes from many runs this cold snowy winter on the treadmill. Thanks to TBS reruns, I've rediscovered some classic episodes completing my training runs when the weather isn't conducive for completing them outside. And Mitchell decided I needed to include this last one of Leo that he took....after Leo tore apart yet another Nerf gun dart. This cat is nearly one year old and no signs of his kitten like ways subsiding anytime soon.

It All Adds Up

Some interesting numerical facts for the week include:
99.6-This isn't a low grade fever to report, rather it is the number of miles I have logged so far in 2014!

9-The number of miles I will take on after school on Friday for this week's long run.

2- Points scored by Mitchell in his game this Sunday! He was so proud to finally get one in the basket! The Thunder won their game and we were excited to have Gma and Gpa Bunger there to see the game.

20-The number of fundraiser cards Mitchell sold this year. Could we have a future salesman in the family?
1-New globe-copter....for selling the 20 cards. Also 1 could be for one freaked out Leo over said globe-copter.

Valentine 8 Miler

No school on Valentine's Day so the boys and I went to see Great Grandma Craney today!
And of course we treated her to a hot fudge sundae at Braums. Great Grandma turned 99 last month. I hope someday that I can say I age as well as she has...and we're happy to treat her with ice cream for lunch as much as possible. :)
After returning home, I completed my week's long run of 8 miles. This past week was conferences so my training plan basically didn't happen so this was a bit more of a struggle than I would have liked.
But at least I'll have the weekend to recover and this surprise from my Valentine helped to end a crazy week on a sweet note.

School Counseling

This week is National School Counselor's Week.  And like last year, this wonderful staff has gone out of their way to make today a special one for me. :)
Even though we missed two days of school due to snow (which I have jokingly been told was planned for me during my special week.)
And I guess the office staff new I needed to carbo load today for my long run???
I love my job as a school counselor!!!  I feel like I am the lucky one to be in a building with such wonderful students and staff that I have privilege to work with each school day.

2nd Snow Day

Chad had to work today, but the boys and I are home for our second snow day after getting over 11inches of snow on Tuesday!
Chad moved snow 3 times yesterday. And there is still more on the driveway today and a huge amount at the end of the drive after the snow plows finally went through this morning.
Yesterday we watched a record 3 Disney movies in one day.
Collin helped me make chocolate chip cookies. And we consumed a lot of cookie dough!
Cabin fever set in during the afternoon so outside they went to burn off some energy.
A bloody nose that occurred while brother rough housing. Shortly after this is when I declared it was time to go outside for awhile....
And today we have completed our valentines for school.
Today I also had to resort to implementing "get along bucks " to earn technology time as both boys were already on each other's nerves before 8 a.m. Thanks to this incentive and the awesome chocolate chip pancakes Chad made us before leaving, we have all survived our second day at home...so far. :)

Family Snow Day

School was called off for Tuesday before the boys were even out of school yesterday, but Chad got up early this morning to head in to work out and hopefully come home before the snow storm got too bad.
But to our surprise, Chad was home within 30 minutes with Varsity Donuts and the news that he also had a snow day!!!
We've already been busy this morning making Valentine's for our class parties.
Created fancy deserts for lunch....
I guess at our house fancy means making instant pudding and putting them in fun little bowls!
Leo has decided to dedicate this family snow day to hyperactivity....
And feline snow adventures?
Collin has yet to change out of his PJ's...
And we had a brief lesson on the myth of Sisyphus as Chad shoveled our driveway as it continues to snow heavily.

And it's only noon! More family snow day fun to come as the Bunger's hunker down for Snow-a-palooza 2014.

Before the Snow

Before the snow hit this weekend, I accomplished my 7 mile long run on Thursday.
I was able to do the whole route without stopping and ran parts if the Linear Trial I've never been on before.
It was a cold run, with about half of the route into a stiff north wind, but at least I completed it before the sidewalks, trials and roads were blanketed with snow again.
The cold and snow kept us indoors most of the weekend and I started my next week of training running 4 miles on the treadmill this morning (ugh).
Two little boys indoors most of the day can lead to some serious cabin fever. So we let our creativity flow on Saturday night with a "fancy" table for snacks during our movie night double feature.
And Collins so proud of himself as this Kindergartner is starting to READ!
And now a Super Bowl Party tonight. All this excitement can wear a guy out.
