I Just Wanna Go Fast...

What a fun surprise Saturday out on the lake thanks to an invite from our family friends the Casebeer's!

The boys had a blast boating and tubing!

And just like Ricky Bobby...they just wanted to go fast!

Well, they all wanted to go fast until they started catching serious air...then more like 2 of the 3 wanted to continue going fast on the tube....

And the adults enjoyed the cooler weather that made for an enjoyable day on the lake.

3rd and 6th

Tuesday marked the first day of school for the boys!

And this is the last year they will both be heading off to the same school together! 3rd and 6th grade never looked so good.

And to continue his awesome trend of snagging the best themed before school pictures ever for me while I'm already at work...Chad upped his game this year with "senior portrait poses."

These last two beauties parady one of my senior photos. 😆

Today they even did a solo bike ride together to school. And they made it in one piece with no arguing. Impressive. Most impressive.

Celebration of 50 Years

We were honored to host a reception for our parents 50th wedding anniversary last weekend!

It was wonderful to have my siblings and their families back for this event from Alabama and Minnesota.

Seeing my nieces twice in one summer?? So great! They are growing up to be such wonderful young adults. 💜

GINW Class of 96..The Reunion Special

A few weeks back, we spent the weekend back in GI for my 20 year class reunion..

It was a great weekend to catch up with some fun people!

So many laughs, fun, memories...and a selfie stick.

Minnesota Trip

We made an extended weekend trip to see Uncle Doug and Aunt Amy in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Cousin time is always the best time! The first afternoon we took a riverboat tour on the Mississippi River.

It rained too much to threw the locks but it was still a great trip!

Afterwards we went to the Minnesota Institute of Arts.

And of course had some silly cousin time as well!

Sunday Mitchell and Chad made a short trip to Wisconsin for Mitchell's first experience fly fishing for trout...he loved it!

And landed his first trout!

Then celebrated at a local dive with great bar food.

Amy and I took the boys downtown to the opening events of the new US Bank Stafium in downtown Minneapolis..very cool!!

Such a great weekend together with family!

Thanks for a great weekend to the Drake's!!

Back home with one last week of summer before I head back to work.

This past weekend both boys were involved any Manhattan parks and recreation departments summer theater production of the little mermaid Junior.

This was put on by K-6 grade students from Manhattan and was such an awesome production!

Mitchell was Sebestian the Crab and Collin was a sailor/chef.

We were so proud of them!

Mitchell's two solos were amazing.  My heart was so full of pride each night...

He was quite the character actor too!

Watching your child love something you also have always loved was a new level of joy for this proud momma, for sure!

We look forward to watching both of our boys and many more theatrical appearances to come in the future! 💕
