Collin got spend the night with Grandma and Grandpa Ammeter on Sunday night for some special time....so Mitchell and I had a little movie date to see the new movie "Oz the Great and Powerful" and then had our own double feature watching "Pirates of the Carriabean" after supper that night.
After finishing a very slow 4 mile run this morning where my legs were still tight from Saturday's 10K, the boys and I headed east with Grandma and Grandpa Ammeter for Topeka to visit the zoo on our first full day of spring break!
The weather was perfect and both boys enjoyed seeing all the animals. Mitchell was very young when we visited this zoo and for Collin and my folks it was their first visit.
The hipppos were by far Collin's favorite. He would not even turn around for this picture and we went back to visit them 3 more times after we left the first time.
The rainforest was a neat little exhibit, but if our camera was able to give you "smell-o-vision" as Mitchell called it....you'd see why Collin is posing this way.
My dad has already had one knee replacement and is set to have another "new knee" in late April. So we were glad he was able to come along and also that most of the exhibits were close enough (and also with no hills) for him to see with us!
Day 1 of Spring Break 2013 was a big success. Now if only there wasn't snow in the forecast for the end of the week......
I am sick of that "S" word! I am glad you guys had fun at the zoo!!
